My philosophy for character teaching is that I believe in the long run, whether the student learn about algebra or may not be very important, however, it is essential for students to learn what is right from what is wrong.

Mr. Thomas Nguyen, Science Department Head, Science Olympiad Mentor For me character as a philosophy is an important part of my teaching methodology. To truly be an excellent all-around person is the goal l have as a teacher. I believe students should strive not to only show distinction in academics but also be an upstanding citizen. Someone I can proclaimed that I helped to be the best they can be. Being empathetic, respectful, and conscious of their decisions are the cornerstones of how I approach helping the students to understand those around them while science is what I teach for them to understand the world. Mrs. Hilda Hernandez Gomez, ESL Coordinator My Teaching Philosophy: To provide a quality education for all students by: · facilitating the learning process · creating a positive learning environment · helping students to become problem solvers providing a strong foundation for lifelong learning Mr. Eric Pardo, Art teacher Ms. Manuela Carreon, Librarian My philosophy for having Character Education that it is important because it enables our staff and students not only to act ethically but also understand the reasons behind such core values. This will not only carry on during the student’s education years but it is also a way of life. Ms. Kara Willis, Campus Outreach Coordinator Character education is valuable to our students and our campus overall because it helps our students to grow and to learn respect, values and team work amongst each other. It’s a beautiful thing to have our teachers, admin team, coordinators, students and literally the entire school practicing what it means to truly have character. I saw a 6th grader drop all of his belongings on the stair case one day during a typical busy class change. An 8th grader instantly started to help him pick up his things and it became a ripple effect when other students joined in to help without being asked or told! To me, THAT is character education. Mrs. Ifeoma Adegun, M.P.A. Department Chair My philosophy on Character Education, is that it cannot be taught in isolation; it should be embedded in all that we do. As an educator, I owe it to my students to demonstrate the character traits I want to see in them. Lila Blair, Physical Education Coach |
